Our Purpose
Native Quest as a cultural center celebrates, educates, nurtures, and honors, the traditions of Native Americans for everyone to understand, while finding common values between all cultures.
About Our Logo
Native Quest is designed to meet the cultural needs of Urban Native Americans, through the body, spirit, mind and heart. Our logo, designed by Fred Jackson (Lenape) represents this philosophy, which Fred describes as:
The collection of North American tribes is represented as Turtle Island which is surrounded by a unifying circle of braided sinew, welcoming everyone.
The traditional compass points offer direction:
- Black- harmony and cooperation, and also represents the African population
- White – tradition melding into culture, and also represents the Caucasian population
- Yellow - love that binds the community, and also represents the Asian population
- Red- the spirit that permeates every action, and also represents the Native American and South American and Hispanic Native population .
We reach out to all people and strive to include all cultures.
